Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

Also I currently have it configured to use the grungetape skin, but after I let it sit long enough it is reverting to the default player now.

Interesting enough it sometimes runs after waiting long enough (> 1min), but without skin. Sometimes it just crashes. This happens with all browsers I tested.

However it is working fine on my local test server. So I don't know what could be the issue. Maybe you can ask around on the JW Player forums to see if they know an answer.

I think I have found the issue.
Can you try entering the absolute path to the skin instead of the relative path.
Code:
http://www.mynewwalk.org/images/grungetape.zip
It looks like this is related to the SEO settings of Joomla. With SEO turned off relative links work fine with Flash, with SEO turned on they break for some reason. I found this out while investigating another issue.

I wanted to use more relative links inside SermonSpeaker to make it a bit faster, but apparently absolute links are the way to go, or SEO will break the links.

Thanks for notifying me of this bug and testing the fix. It will be fixed in the next release and you will be able to enter relative paths again. However absolute paths will always work as well :-)
