Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Sorry

This feed does not validate.

line 35, column 0: Unexpected Text [help]

 <item>

On line 35 of the RSS feed there is a word item , looking at the lines I do not see where <item> or </item> was used before line 35, it is ok further down with code as <i/tem> then next line <item>

I am using the latest version of all of your software and joomla 3.6.5
Where can i find how the feed is created and edit that one problem?

I would need the URL of the feed to have a look.

It looks like there is an invisible space before the first <item>. Honestly I don't know where that comes from. It may come from a system or content plugin.
You can try disabling each non-core plugin and see if that solves the issue. If it does, then you can try enabling them again one after each other and see which one brings the issue back.

I have now gotten it to validate with w3c feed validation service and it is a valid feed but for some reason iTunes cannot validate the feed the error it get is it cannot parse the feed

It took trial and error for finding what was causing that extra space and once I turned off prepare content in sermon cast options the extra space disappeared and feed validated everywhere but itunes and I can use itunes store to get the podcast.

Any ideas what might be causing this?
