Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Dear Thomas,
I notice that if someone twist with the URL he may get the full list of sermons. For example:
sermonspeaker.net/listings/series/02399003
where the ending part can be just arbitrary string.
I want something like a not-found message rather than a full list to be shown.
How can I stop the "list-all-if-not-found" behavior?

That looks like something coming from Joomla. It probably tries to find the correct menu item, and since it's an invalid one it falls back to the component of the parent menu item and runs the default view of that component.
