Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

Pagination links alignment was created by Nathan Reed
Sorry to consume your time and forum, but another question about layout - when I decrease the number of sermons to display such that multiple pages are reqd to view all, the pagination links are arrayed with each link a new line rather than all in a single line. Any clues on how I might fix this? Thanks!

This is an issue with your template. The pagination is a Joomla function where the formatting should be done by the template.
The whole pagination is put in a <div clas="pagination"> container
The pagination links then are in a <ul> with <li><span class="pagenav"> for each page.
If no formatting is applied to this CSS classes, then it will just appear as a bulleted list like you see. Best is to copy the formatting from a working template you like
