Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

I tried finding documentation or tutorials on this (very important) feature, but, alas, nothing.

I'm no dummy when it comes to computers and web design, but the lack of documentation is makign this an impossible job.

Can someone either give me a step by step walk through of how to set it up, or point me to where to get this info. Thanks.

It isn't all that hard
  1. SermonSpeaker options -> File paths: Set the mode for videofiles to Vimeo and enter your Vimeo user in the field. The tooltips will give you a bit more info.
  2. Sermon form: Choose your video from the dropdown list.

If you don't want to use this way, you could always also just enter the URL to your Vimeo video into the video field in the sermon form. It will work with URLs that start with vimeo.com or player.vimeo.com .

Unfortunately uploading or downloading videos will not work from within SermonSpeaker. Vimeo doesn't allow this.

Hi Thomas,

thanks for the reply. I did find a post about using the URL which I tried (both ways), but, although that added a "Watch" button to the sermon I added the URL to, when you clicked it, all it did was open a pop up which pretty much minimized itself to the top left corner - about 1" x 3/4" - and nothing happened. When I dragged the window out, it had the name of the sermon (still have the 2 Billy Sunday ones in there only and I'd added the URL to one of them), but that was it.

However, in the interests of making sure I had it right, I went back to Vimeo and recopied the URL and, behold they saw a great light! Well a video!! :-) NOW the problem is, the pop up is not auto adjusting to the size of the video. (see image) Have I missed a setting somewhere that allows for auto width/height adjustment? I see the player H/W parameters in the backend, but I had to end up putting values in there to get the video I was testing to display full size. That is not going to work for every video of course. Also, it would be nice to have the pop up center itself. Is that possible (easily!!)?

Thanks - great extension!

Hi Ian

I just visited your site and it looks correct to me. The popup opens and resizes to the size of the video like it's supposed to do.
Did you figure it out yourself? Otherwise it could be an issue with the browser or OS. I tested it with Windows 8 and Chrome.

Ahhhh! B) That's because I put 900W x 600H in the parameters in the backend. If I leave them blank it behaves as per the images I attached.

Yep, usually it should work if you leave it empty. The default values should work in most cases.
